Praising God for who He is.
Psalm 145:1-3 I will extol You, my God, O King;
And I will bless Your name forever and ever.
2 Every day I will bless You,
And I will praise Your name forever and ever.
3 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised;
And His greatness is unsearchable.
2. Thanking God for what He has done.
Psalm 100:4-5 4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
5 For the Lord is good;
His mercy is everlasting,
And His truth endures to all generations.
3. Asking God for things we need.
Philippians 4:6 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
4. Confessing our sins.
Psalm 32:5-6 5 I acknowledged my sin to You,
And my iniquity I have not hidden.
I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,”
And You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah 6 For this cause everyone who is godly shall pray to You.
In a time when You may be found;
Surely in a flood of great waters;
They shall not come near him.
5. Sharing our heart with God concerning our innermost desires.
Psalm 27:4 4 One thing I have desired of the Lord,
That will I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the Lord
All the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the Lord,
And to inquire in His temple.
