The Power of Breakthrough Prayers

The Power of Breakthrough Prayers by Bishop Edward Brink.
Do you find yourself in a spiritual slump, struggling to connect with God? Do you feel like you’ve hit a roadblock in your faith journey? Take heart, for there is hope for a breakthrough. In 2 Chronicles 7:1-3, we see the power of prayer in bringing about a spiritual breakthrough. Let’s examine this passage and learn seven key principles for a prayer that will lead to a spiritual breakthrough.
1. Seek God’s Presence.
The first step to a spiritual breakthrough is seeking God’s presence. In 2 Chronicles 7:1, we see that when Solomon finished praying, “the fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the Lord filled the temple.” This happened because Solomon sought God’s presence through prayer. We too must seek God’s presence if we want to experience a spiritual breakthrough. As the Psalmist says, “As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God” (Psalm 42:1).
2. Humble Yourself.
The second step to a spiritual breakthrough is to humble yourself before God. In 2 Chronicles 7:3, we see that the people bowed their faces to the ground on the pavement, worshiping and praising the Lord. This posture of humility is crucial in prayer. As James 4:10 says, “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.”
3. Repent of Sin.
The third step to a spiritual breakthrough is to repent of sin. In 2 Chronicles 7:14, God says, “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” Repentance is a necessary component of prayer. As 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Let’s explore “The Power of Breakthrough Prayers.”
4. Believe in God’s Promises.
The fourth step to a spiritual breakthrough is to believe in God’s promises. In 2 Chronicles 7:14, God promises to hear from heaven, forgive sin, and heal the land. We can have confidence that God will keep His promises. As Hebrews 10:23 says, “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.”
5. Pray with Persistence.
The fifth step to a spiritual breakthrough is to pray with persistence. In Luke 18:1, Jesus told a parable to illustrate the importance of persistent prayer. He said, “Men always ought to pray and not lose heart.” We should continue to pray even when it seems like nothing is happening.
6. Pray in Faith.
The sixth step to a spiritual breakthrough is to pray in faith. In Mark 11:24, Jesus said, “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” We must pray with confidence, believing that God will answer our prayers.
7. Give God the Glory.
The final step to a spiritual breakthrough is to give God the glory. In 2 Chronicles 7:3, the people “worshiped and praised the Lord, saying, ‘For He is good, for His mercy endures forever.'” We should give God the credit for any breakthrough we experience. As Psalm 115:1 says, “Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but to Your name give glory, because of Your mercy, because of Your truth.”
In conclusion, if you desire a spiritual breakthrough, follow these seven steps: seek God’s presence, humble yourself, repent of sin, believe in God’s promises, pray with persistence, pray in faith, and give God the glory. Remember, prayer is a powerful tool that can transform your life and bring you closer to God. As you pray, have faith that God hears your prayers and is working behind the scenes to bring about the breakthrough you need. Trust in Him and He will guide you to a deeper relationship with Him.
