From Confusion to Clarity

From Confusion to Clarity by Bishop Edward Brink

Confusion, defined as a lack of clarity or understanding in a given situation, can disrupt our lives, causing us to feel lost or unsure. However, as followers of God, we can find guidance and wisdom to overcome confusion and walk in clarity. Let’s explore some practical steps to deal with confusion based on biblical principles.

  1. Recognize the Source
It’s important to understand that God is not the author of confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33). Confusion often stems from various sources, such as evil spiritual powers, sin in our lives, relying on human wisdom rather than God’s, lack of knowledge of His Word, and neglecting prayer and study. By acknowledging the potential causes, we can begin to address the root of our confusion.
  2. Reject Confusion
Remember that confusion is a spiritual force that we don’t have to accept in our lives. When confusion arises, rebuke it immediately. Resist the devil, knowing that he is the one who seeks to sow confusion. Submit yourself to God, and Satan will flee from you (James 4:7).
  3. Seek God’s Wisdom
In moments of confusion, ask God for wisdom. James 1:5 assures us that if we lack wisdom, we can approach God with confidence, and He will generously provide it to us. Spend time in prayer and study His Word, allowing His wisdom to guide your thoughts and decisions.
  4. Embrace God’s Truth
Jesus said that by holding to His teaching, we become His disciples and come to know the truth that sets us free (John 8:31-32). Reject the lies of Satan that breed confusion, and embrace the truth found in God’s Word. Meditate on His promises, His character, and His faithfulness, allowing His truth to dispel the fog of confusion.
  5. Rely on the Holy Spirit
If you are a believer filled with the Holy Spirit, recognize that He is your guide. The Holy Spirit resides within you to lead you into all truth. Trust His prompting and be attentive to His voice as you navigate through confusion (John 14:26).

Remember, you never need to remain in a state of confusion. Seek the root causes, reject confusion as a spiritual force, ask for God’s wisdom, embrace His truth, and rely on the guidance of the Holy Spirit. God desires to bring clarity and understanding to your life, allowing you to walk confidently in His will.

May you find comfort and clarity as you trust in God’s guidance and seek His wisdom to navigate through confusion.
