The Power of Active Faith

The Power of Active Faith by Bishop Edward Brink.

In a world where it seems like everything is constantly changing, it can be easy to lose faith. Trials, struggles, and setbacks can make us question whether or not we’re on the right path. But the truth is, active faith is what gives us the strength to keep going, even when things get tough. In this Blog Post, we’ll explore 7 things we can do by faith, based on the scripture found in Philippians 4:12-13.

1. Live by Faith

Galatians 2:20 implores us to live by faith, to surrender ourselves to the will of God and to allow Christ to dwell within us. Our existence is no longer a self-serving one, but rather, one that is entirely dedicated to serving God. It requires an unwavering trust in God and an abiding faith that He will guide us on the path of righteousness.

2. Stand by Faith

In 1 Corinthians 1:24, we are exhorted to stand by faith, to remain steadfast in the face of adversity and never to waver in our belief. We must stand resolutely, knowing that God is with us and that His love and grace will sustain us.

3. Walk by Faith

2 Corinthians 5:7 admonishes us to walk by faith, to trust in God’s plan for our lives, even when we cannot perceive His handiwork. We must have faith that God will lead us through the trials and tribulations of life and that He will provide us with the guidance and sustenance we need.

4. Receive Strength from God by Faith

Hebrews 11:11 teaches us that by faith, Sarah received the strength to conceive a child in her old age. This serves as a powerful reminder that our faith can be a source of strength, enabling us to surmount even the most formidable obstacles.

5. Obtain the Promises of God by Faith

In Hebrews 11:32-33, we are shown that the great men and women of faith were able to obtain the promises of God by virtue of their steadfastness and trust in Him. They subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, and silenced the mouths of lions, all by virtue of their unswerving faith in the Almighty.

6. Fight the Good Fight by Faith

1 Timothy 6:12 exhorts us to fight the good fight of faith, to stand firm in the face of opposition and to remain resolute in our convictions. We must cling steadfastly to our faith, never relinquishing it, regardless of the challenges we may face.

7. Overcome by Faith

Finally, in 1 John 5:4, we are told that we can overcome the world by our faith, that even the most intractable obstacles can be surmounted by virtue of our unwavering trust in God. Our faith provides us with the strength and fortitude we need to triumph over adversity and to achieve great things.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the importance of faith in our lives cannot be overstated. By living, standing, walking, receiving strength, obtaining promises, fighting the good fight, and overcoming by faith, we can surmount any challenge that life may throw our way. Let us always remember the words of Philippians 4:13 – “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” May our faith always be a beacon of hope and inspiration, guiding us through the tumultuous waters of life.
